COMPARISON BETWEEN NON ELECTRIC & ELECTRIC
SYSTEMS |
Kinetico
Softeners
1. Non-Electric.
World Leader in non-electric softeners (giving
peace of mind when stepping into the shower).
Non-electric Kinetico softeners are demand
driven which work on water volume flow rate –
giving Kinetico softeners the unique patented
ability to detect and respond to your water
consumption. (e.g. If 4 persons are presently in
residence – and a further 4 guests arrive to
stay – your Kinetico softener simply detects the
increase in requirements and adjusts
accordingly)
Kinetico is unrestricted by quantities of water
required. |

Conventional
Softeners
1. Uses
Electricity
Conventional softeners use electrical timers,
which are famous for their problems. 85% of all
service calls are directly linked to timer
problems – resulting from the corrosive
environment of the salt. Electrical timers are
also susceptible to power failures – resulting
in the delivery of hard untreated water to your
home - in most cases. A service technician is
then required to reset the timer – resulting in
additional costs and delays. Softeners with
clocks/timers are programmed to regenerate at a
certain time on a certain day – thus taking away
the ability to compensate for additional water
requirements.
Timer softeners regenerate whether there is
usage or not – resulting in delivery of water
with a very high Sodium content (e.g. When on
holiday) |

2.
Kinetico Twin Resin Tank Technology.
With twin tank technology - one tank is working
(softening water)–the 2nd tank is regenerated
and is in standby mode – which guarantees
continuous delivery of soft water 24hrs. a day –
365 days a year. It simply switches from one
tank to the other tank. |
|
2. Single
Resin Tank.
These present a problem during regeneration.
Normally scheduled +
-3 to 5 times per week – where they have no
option but to shut down during regeneration time
allowing large quantities of untreated hard
water into your home and storage tank facility.
|
3. Size &
Convenience of Units.
Kinetico twin tank softeners fit easily under
the sink – or can be accommodated outside if
preferable. Unique to Kinetico softeners is the
convenience of using 4kg solid block salt. |
|
3. Single
tank
By virtue of the fact that it is a single tank
it must be substantially larger and in most
cases is impossible to install indoors. All
single tank softeners use granulated or tablet
salt, which come in cumbersome 25kg bags. Thus
making it difficult to replace the salt. |
4. Water
used per regeneration.
Due to its advanced technology Kinetico uses a
mere 18.9 Litres of water per regeneration and
flushing (cleaning cycle) process. Making it the
smallest amount used by any softener to date,
regardless of size of home or number of
occupants. |
|
4. Water
used per regeneration.
Uses large quantities of water in the
regeneration (cleaning cycle). This being a
minimum of 55 Litres up to 200 Litres –
depending on size of unit. |
5.
Warranty
10 – 2 Full Parts Manufacturer’s warranty
– depending on unit – with one-year labour
